9 month Zoe report
Zoe had her 9 month check up yesterday. She’s holding steady in the 50-60th percentiles for weight, height and head circumference.
- weight: 19 lbs, 4 oz
- height: 27 inches
No shots at this appointment, which was good. The next one, though, has both shots and a blood draw to test for lead. We asked about the fact that she seems cross-eyed in a lot of her pictures, and our pediatrician didn’t think she looked cross-eyed at all, but she referred us to an ophthalmologist. We’ll watch her for a few days and see if she still seems to go cross-eyed. If she does, she might get an eye patch and get to be pirate baby!
Daycare also did an evaluation of Zoe – I guess they do one every year. It read a little like a report card, with various skills listed, and she would receive a “+” for having achieved it, a “-” for “future development” and “NA” for not age appropriate. There wasn’t much that was surprising. They didn’t think Zoe had quite crawled one body length to reach a toy, but we’ve seen her crawl much further. We were surprised that they thought she would sit and play by herself for 10 minutes. But then we gave it a try, and lo and behold, we can set her down with a toy and work on other things as long as we’re nearby and she’ll entertain herself. Awesome.
